Christmas revolves around Christmas Dinner and even if you are watching your weight, you should enjoy it. By following these simple suggestions you can still enjoy Christmas and lose weight!
- Take the approach of a taste tester. Opt for small morsels of everything, eating slowly to savour each delicious mouthful. Smaller portions of the diverse range of foods on offer will ensure you thoroughly enjoy your Christmas dinner, without that over-stuffed feeling that comes from eating too much.
- Make good food choices. For example, if there is Traditional Trifle or a Fruit Salad, opt for the fruit and follow the Fruit Option in your Program Manual.
- If you can avoid alcohol, this will be a big step in remaining on track with your weight loss program and you’re sure to feel better for it afterwards.
- Don't starve yourself in the lead up to the Christmas meal as this will only make you hungrier and more inclined to overeat. Prepare your two Dr Tim’s Success meal replacements as normal, making the Christmas meal your main meal of the day.
Finally don’t be too hard on yourself! If you do happen to over indulge, forgive yourself and begin where you left off on Boxing Day.
